Hey everyone! I’m Emeka, local resident here in Cheshunt and the editor behind Broxtown.

When I’m not spending my weekends piecing together upcoming local events and the stories shaping our week ahead, I’m usually hanging out with family or following football (supporting Cheshunt FC is a given, though I’ll leave you to guess my primary club!).

I started Broxtown out of pure frustration with local Facebook groups, you’re halfway through reading a post, accidentally refresh the feed, and it’s lost to the algorithm forever. I wanted a dedicated, reliable home for everything happening across Broxbourne Borough.

Most importantly, I want this space to be a positive, welcoming hub where we highlight and celebrate all the great things happening in our community. If that sounds good to you, you’re in the right place!

Who will be sponsoring the Christmas trees in Hoddesdon, Goffs Oak, or Waltham Cross this year?

The council has started early to get loan businesses to sponsor the Christmas trees across Waltham Cross, Hoddesdon, Goffs Oak. The sponsorship package includes a banner around the base of the tree featuring business logo and festive imagery or messaging.

You can suggest who will make a great sponsor. Maybe we can go nudge them and ask them to go for it. What do you think?

Hello and welcome. We're really glad you're here.

We started this community because Broxbourne didn't have one place where residents could talk about what's going on locally. News, events and local chat get scattered across Facebook groups, WhatsApp chats and noticeboards. This space brings it together: one place to find out what's happening in and around Broxbourne, and a space that belongs to residents.

Have a look around the channels. There are conversations going on about local news, events, businesses, schools, planning and everyday community life. Jump into any thread, introduce yourself, ask a question or share something you've spotted around town.

Some channels are only open to paid members. If you see one you can't get into, that's why. Upgrading gets you access and directly funds independent local journalism for Broxbourne.

Our one ground rule: respect

This is our happy space. Disagreement is fine, and healthy debate is welcome. Rudeness, personal attacks and unpleasant comments are not. We'll remove posts that cross that line, and members who keep doing it will be removed from the community.
